Our client is a member-owned and controlled milk-marketing cooperative serving approximately 2,000 dairy farmers in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio and Indiana. Their history began back in 1916 as a sole association that purchased and sold the fresh milk of dairy farmers, daily, providing them with a regular, steady income. Today, they operate two dairy processing facilities that process value-added dairy ingredients used in a variety of food products. While our client does not produce brand-specific products, their ingredients are found in abundance in traditional dairy products, including milk, yogurt, cheese, baked goods, candy and infant formulas. Recognized as a high-quality, value-added dairy ingredient supplier, one of our client's facilities was recently awarded the distinction of Dairy Plant of the Year by Dairy Foods magazine.
Production Supervisor
Constantine, Michigan
As a Production Supervisor, you will lead and supervise a team of production, maintenance and lab employees to manufacture high-quality, dairy food ingredients. You will train, maintain and develop your team of union-represented workers to the highest level of their performance capabilities, through implementation of our client's policies and practices. Importantly, you will establish strong, cooperative relationships with other members of management, and work in collaboration with other production supervisors to minimize disruption due to unplanned absences or incomplete work teams. The schedule for this role consists of a three-week rotation between 1st and 2nd shifts, with a four-day weekend every third weekend.
To qualify, you should hold a four-year degree and possess a minimum of three years' supervisory experience. Your primary strengths should lie in communication and organizational skills. A working knowledge of Excel and Word, along with an ability to quickly pick up computer-based logistics, sales and inventory systems, will make you a front runner for this position.
